The team behind Echoes of the Steppe Throat Singing Festival shares a deep passion for the incredible art of throat singing and the rich culture and traditions of Central Asia.

Lucas is passionate about throat singing and Central Asian music, culture, and traditions. He traveled to Mongolia to study the art of throat singing and created a documentary about its preservation.

Passionate about world cultures and the music that brings them to life. As a student of Hindustani sitar, he explores music’s power to connect. Until he can visit Mongolia, he brings it's spirit alive in his village through this festival.

Lea is the director of artist residencies at Henosis and a musician performing as Moonlüs. Her work blends minimalist electronics, inspired by a solo journey across Mongolia and shaped by a close relationship to nature and animist perspectives, exploring listening and inner perception.

Rowan found his love for Tuvan and Mongolian throat singing in 2005 and soon after traveled to Mongolia to explore it's culture. Now, he and his wife dedicate themselves to sharing this music + traditions in the Netherlands.

There couldnt be a more beautiful place for our festival: The medieval town of Romainmôtier, nestled in a stunning region of Switzerland, surrounded by forests, caves, rivers, and waterfalls.
